HISTORY OF AVALON John Marshall, Staff Commodore of Southern California Yachting Association (SCYA), will present an interesting and very entertaining "History of Avalon". He starts 7,000 years ago and continues to the present, showcasing the various personalities whose lives make up a rich history of this island town. The presentation features many historical photographs of Avalon on Catalina Island and the people that helped to shape one of our favorite mariner’s destinations. John has been the featured speaker at meetings of SCYA, Alamitos Bay, Long Beach, San Diego, Balboa and Cabrillo Beach Yacht Clubs. This is a presentation not to be missed!
