JOIN THE CLUB

Laguna Woods Yacht Club welcomes new members to join our socially oriented nautical club. Whether you are a current, former, or arm-chair sailor, you are welcome here.

You don't need to own a boat; your membership fees entitle you to sail on our sloop, the Hiatus, a Catalina 30′ yacht berthed at Dana Point Harbor.  The sails are subject to availability, up to three times a month.

In addition to sails, we also offer sailing courses all levels, beginner through advanced.  We also have monthly meeting with interesting programs and time to mix socially with fellow club members.  Non-members may attend a monthly meeting to check things out. The guest fee is $10.00.  We meet the first Wednesday of the month at 4:30 PM, in Clubhouse 7.

Eligibility: Yacht club members must reside in Laguna Woods Village, CA.  Laguna Woods Village is a community for adults aged 55 and older. Prospective members are asked to fill out an application for review by the membership committee.

Dues:  The annual membership dues are $225, payable when the applicant is approved. Dues are paid annually, in advance of your membership anniversary date, and are not refundable. Memberships are individual and not family or household. Members are entitled to participate in all club activities, including day sails (subject to availability) on Hiatus, a Catalina 30′ yacht berthed at Dana Point Harbor.

Insurance Waiver: Our club carries comprehensive nautical insurance. Our insurance carrier requires a signed release form for all members wishing to participate in day sailing and other activities.  All new members must read and agree to the release form.
