We will have Lindsey Wilcox from the Pacific Marine Mammal Center as our guest speaker.
Marine mammals such as whales and dolphins occasionally strand themselves—a phenomenon known as cetacean stranding. While the exact causes remain uncertain, scientists have identified several contributing factors, including illness, injury, changes in water temperature, geomagnetic disturbances, ship collisions, entanglement in fishing gear, and even intentional beaching during seal hunts.
