HISTORY OF AVALON
John Marshall, Commodore of Southern California Yachting Association, presents an interesting and very entertaining "History of Avalon." He starts 7,000 years ago, continuing up to the present day, showcasing the various personalities whose lives make up a rich history of the Catalina Island town of Avalon. The presentation features many historical photographs of Avalon and the people that helped to shape one of our favorite destinations for mariners. John has been the featured speaker at meetings of SCYA, Alamitos Bay, Long Beach, San Diego, Balboa and Cabrillo Beach Yacht Clubs.
