Our next General Meeting will be Friday, August 23 at 10 a.m. in Clubhouse Three (PAC), Dining Room 1. Susie Campbell will show the award-winning MacGillivray Freeman film, Humpback Whales, and explain what inspired her to show this movie in towns and villages as she cruised the Sea of Cortez after completing the 2018 Baja Haha.  Set in the spectacular waters of Alaska, Hawaii and the remote islands of Tonga, this 40 minute film offers an up-close look at how humpbacks communicate, sing, feed, play, and take care of their young. We’ll find out why humpbacks are the most acrobatic of all whales, why they sing their haunting songs, and why these intelligent 55-foot, 50-ton animals migrate up to 10,000 miles round-trip every year. Humpbacks were nearly driven to extinction 50 years ago, but today are making a slow but remarkable recovery. New members and prospective members are invited to attend an informal discussion to learn more about the club at 9:30 am.
